High End Cables, Wall Plates and Plugs for your Systems

by High Definition on January 19, 2010

More and more homes are being equipped with home theater systems and high definition televisions and everyone owning or using such devices and gadgets is probably already familiar with HDMI cables.

The name of the HDMI cable itself (high definition multimedia interface) gives an accurate definition for the performance of such cables. This new standard in multimedia transmission is completely digital, bi-directional and reverse compatible. In other words, a HDMI cable is all it takes for all your AV appliances to be connected. These features alone make HDMI cables a far better choice when compared to the predecessors, the analog cables. The nineteen individual wires wrapped inside a HDMI cable make it possible for a bandwidth as large as 10.2 Gbps to be transmitted. Furthermore, this type of cable eliminates the need for any conversion, and therefore gives the best audio and video quality. You can use as many as 25 meters of HDMI cable and still have absolutely no distortion or pixel loss.

All of the above are very good reasons why you should switch to HDMI cables. Their video performance, an unchallenged 1080p high definition, as well as their audio performance (full digital multi-channel transmission) makes HDMI cables far superior to other types of cables. Simply put, the high-definition multimedia interface cable can deliver what no other cable can.

Knowing that HDMI cables are the best type of cables available on the market today, there is still the price aspect to consider. If you were to go to a regular store to buy a HDMI cable (or make the purchase online, for that matter), you would probably notice that prices vary widely and technical specifications differ to a great extent. A legitimate question arises. What’s the difference between HDMI cable versions and how can you choose the right one? These questions are best answered by a specialist. However, before making a purchase, especially if you order online, you should at least make sure that the cable of your choice is Category 2 certified. HDMI cables fall into two categories, and only category 2 ones (which are tested at 340MHz for 1080p60 and 2160p30) are rated as “high speed” and are therefore of superior quality.

Once you have switched to HDMI cables, you might also be interested in connecting them in a professional way. In such case, a high-end HDMI wall plate is highly recommended. For easy set up and maximum performance, it is advisable that you choose a 24k gold plated wall plate with HDMI socket on both sides.

And speaking of wall plates, we all know that they are the best solutions to all your cable installations. As true as it may be that a HDMI wall plate or a speaker wall plate (or any type of wall plate for that matter) may not one of your priorities when setting up a home entertainment systems or an office space, you still have to agree that wall plates make a big difference in terms of both aesthetics and safety.

According to your specific needs, you can opt for a HDMI wall plate, an AV wall plate, a speaker wall plate, etc.  A HDMI wall plate is suitable for HDMI signals for HDTV, DVD, set top box, computers, etc., component video signals for equipment without HDMI, stereo audio signal and connecting to projectors, plasma TVs and LCD TVs.

An AV wall plate is generally suitable for audio/video signals, component video signals for DVD, set top box, satellite, etc., as well as for connecting to projectors, plasma TVs and LCD TVs. However, as with any other type of wall plate, uses vary according to the features and quality of the product in question.

If you have a sophisticated home entertainment system, you probably also have a bit of a mess around it, as we all know that the more equipment we add, the more cables we need. A good speaker wall plate will solve the aesthetics problem right away. And if you really want a professional and neat finish, you should definitely opt for a 5.1 or 7.1 all in one speaker wall plate.

And when it comes to your hifi, you already know that a good speaker cable can make a huge difference. In order to get the best performance out of your equipment, you need the best speaker cables that you can afford. And what would be the point in trying to save a few dollars on something as important as speaker cables, when your home entertainment system has probably already cost you a small fortune. In case you were still wondering, high end speaker cables are really worth the money and, besides, they are a lot more affordable now, provided you know where to shop. Online stores that import directly from manufacturers would be a very good place to start. You may be surprised to find a high end speaker cable or silver speaker cable at very convenient prices.

Speaking of cables, it is a well known fact that there are many benefits to using fiber optical cables, such as increased security and more reliability than with any other type of wire. A high quality toslink optical cable with 24k gold tips and full metal handles prevents signal loss and ensures maximum signal power. A toslink cable is generally recommended for connections between amplifiers, receivers, DVD players, CD players, plasma TVs, sound cards, satellite receivers, etc. And if you want the cables in your home to look like high end cables from a big brand manufacturer, you should definitely use a braided sleeve to organize your strands of cable into a single bunch and do so professionally.

Whenever you want a good connection, you should also pay close attention to the plugs you are using, and not just to the cables or wall plates. A gold banana plug, for instance, comes with 24k gold plated contacts, while the main plug body is 100% solid copper. If you perform a diligent search, you might just be able to find very good banana plugs and RCA plugs at very affordable prices.

The Impact of Hdmi Cables on Electronics Good

by High Definition on January 13, 2010

The High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) is a compact audio and video connector interface for transmitting uncompressed digital streams. It supports, on a single cable, any TV or PC video format including standard, enhanced, and high-definition video along with up to 8 channels of digital audio. It is independent of the various digital television standards such as ATSC and DVB as these are encapsulations of compressed MPEG video streams, which can be decoded and output as uncompressed video stream on HDMI.

HDMI allows for the transmission of both audio and video signals through a single cable connection, as well as to enable a bandwidth large enough to allow for higher resolutions than achieved using the analog style video connections. For displaying a high definition picture on a television with the correct capacity, one will need an HDMI connection. It digitally combines audio and video on one cable, and offers the best of audio and vides without creating the rat’s nest of multiple wires and cables stuffed behind the TV and equipment rack.

HDMI cable is the newest version of the multiple multimedia interface cable. It is used to connect a number of electronic devices into the same interface. Comparing with the past models of the cable, this cable has an array of new features that makes it the most adaptable of the bunch. The real benefits of using this cable compared to the others is that, this new version will expand the multimedia interface and make it easier for one to connect his electronics. This uncompressed digital connection scheme was originally developed for a network of personal computers and now it is the most widely used digital display interface in the computer industry.

Compared to the other standard audio/video interfaces, HDMI interfaces actually have a number of important advantages. The uncompressed format delivers digital high definition video, multi-channel audio, and control signals between various DVI components. By combining all this power into one cable, it offers a convenient alternative connection to the home theater and other electronic goods.

The benefits that are offered by HDMI cable are, it transfers the data with the highest speed and it also supports Deep Color, which is a special type of format. This is the brand new color space used in video electronics and can support 1.8 times as many colors as red, green, blue color schemes, which helps it to show all the various colors found in nature. This cable also incorporates automatic audio sync and it automatically adjust for the difference in electronic latency between the processing circuits of the sound and the image.
